Wedding Stylist in India for Brides, Grooms & Families
StyleBuddy Weddings is a wedding styling and wedding shopping service for Indian weddings. We plan what the bride, groom and family wear across every function, then help you buy it - shortlisting stores and designers, joining you on shopping days, and tracking fittings and accessories. We work in person across Indian cities and virtually for couples and NRI families abroad.

We had a great experience at Mohey and had really incredible help from the team. They were instrumental in helping us find just what we needed, and I can't thank them enough for their patience with our very specific choices and needs. They helped us get exactly what we wanted — fulfilled the vision we had in much quicker time than we ever anticipated. We thought the process would take at least a week and that we would have to go to many different places, but this was the first place we came to and we found everything we needed. We are very particular and had an unusual sense of what we wanted, and everyone helped us fulfil our specific needs. We are very happy with the end result.
Planning a wedding is complicated. Your outfits don't have to be.
These are the problems couples actually arrive with.
Hundreds of stores and designers, and no way to tell which ones actually stock your budget and silhouette.
No clear idea of which shapes, fabrics and colours suit you in photographs, not just in the mirror.
Four or five functions to dress for, planned one at a time until they clash or repeat awkwardly.
The bride, the groom and both families shopping separately, then discovering the looks do not sit together.
A budget that drifts because the first outfit was bought before the rest were priced.
Shopping trips squeezed into weekends, with travel days lost to markets that were never right.
Fittings and alterations left too late, which is when heavy outfits become genuinely risky.
Jewellery, footwear and accessories treated as an afterthought, then bought in a rush.
Cultural and family expectations that nobody wrote down but everybody will notice.
Families flying in from abroad with a fortnight, at most, to finish everything.
The process
How a wedding stylist helps
01
Understand your wedding, style and budget
Functions, dates, cities, guest context, cultural expectations, what you already own, what you like and firmly do not, and what the total outfit budget really is.
02
Build your complete look plan
One plan across all functions: silhouettes, palettes, fabrics, jewellery and accessories per look, with the budget split so the anchor outfits are funded first.
03
Shop, shortlist and coordinate
A shortlist of stores and designers matched to the plan, appointments booked, shopping days sequenced, quality checked, and family looks coordinated as you buy.
04
Finalise fittings, accessories and wedding-day looks
Alteration rounds tracked against the calendar, accessories and footwear closed, drapes decided, and a per-function checklist so each morning is unpacking, not deciding.

Wedding shopping assistance
A wedding shopping assistant does the work between deciding and buying. Before you shop, we set the silhouette, palette and budget per look, then cut a city's markets and boutiques down to a route you can finish in a day rather than a month.
On the day, we book appointments in sequence, buy the anchor outfit first so everything else can be matched to it, check fabric weight, lining and finishing before you commit, and keep a running tally against the budget. Afterwards we track alteration rounds, pickups, jewellery and footwear so nothing lands unfinished in the final week.
Wedding styling is not only bridal. The photographs that families keep are group photographs, and those only work when everyone was planned together.
Bride
Anchor outfit first, then the remaining functions built around it, with jewellery and drape planned per look.
Groom
Fit and tailoring lead times, fabric for the season, footwear and safa, planned alongside the bride's palette.
The couple together
Coordinated, not matching: tones that photograph well side by side across every ceremony.
Parents
Comfort for long ceremonies, dignity in photographs, and pieces that work again after the wedding.
Siblings
Sangeet-ready looks that stand apart from the couple without competing with them.
Bridesmaids & wedding party
A palette and fabric brief that works across different body types, budgets and cities.

Wedding styling across India
Stylists are available in these cities for in-person styling and shopping days, and virtually everywhere else. City pages cover the local markets and what to expect there.
Outfit expectations change completely between traditions - the ceremony sequence, the colours that are worn or avoided, drape and silhouette, the fabrics families expect, how jewellery is worn, and whether heads are covered. Styling that ignores this looks generic in the room and wrong in the photographs. Our cultural wedding styling hub explains how we work across traditions, including interfaith and cross-regional weddings.
If you live abroad, the constraint is not choice - it is time on the ground. The work that decides whether a two-week trip succeeds happens before you land: a style brief for each function, measurements taken and verified, a shortlist built from photos and video, and appointments booked in the right order.
In India we run the shopping days back to back, buy anchor outfits early so alterations get the maximum number of days, hold fitting slots in advance, and close accessories and jewellery once the outfits are fixed. Anything unfinished when you fly home is followed up remotely, including final alterations and dispatch.
StyleBuddy Weddings is the dedicated wedding styling and wedding shopping service from StyleBuddy. Your wedding is handled by a styling team that works across bridal, groom and family styling, market and designer sourcing, and fitting coordination - not by a single generalist juggling everything.
You are introduced to the stylist who will run your wedding on the first consultation, so you know who is making the decisions with you.
Tell us your wedding dates, cities, functions and who needs help. We'll recommend the right combination of styling, shopping and coordination support for your wedding.
Every wedding is different. We first understand your wedding, who needs support, the number of functions, location and the type of styling or shopping help required. Our team then recommends the right level of support and discusses the commercial details with you directly.
When outfit planning, shopping, fittings and accessories should ideally happen.
6-12 months before
Fix the function list and the total outfit budget. Decide the bride's and groom's anchor looks and start custom or heavily embroidered orders, because these have the longest lead times.
3-6 months before
Shop the main outfits. Lock silhouettes and palettes for every function, brief the family, and start jewellery decisions, since rentals and custom sets book out in wedding season.
1-3 months before
First fittings on the heavy pieces, footwear bought and broken in, accessories and drapes finalised, and family looks confirmed against the couple's palette.
Final month
Second and final alteration rounds, blouse and fall-pico work completed, trial drapes photographed, and a per-function checklist built with everything laid out look by look.
Final week
Pickups collected, everything steamed and bagged by function, jewellery and footwear packed with the outfit they belong to, and a small repair kit for hooks, pins and tapes.
Common questions
Wedding styling questions, answered
What does a wedding stylist do?
A wedding stylist plans what you and your family wear across every function, then helps you actually get it. That means deciding silhouettes, colours and fabrics for each ceremony, building one wardrobe plan instead of six unrelated outfits, shortlisting stores and designers, joining you for shopping, and tracking fittings, alterations, jewellery and accessories so nothing is left to the final week.
What does working with a wedding stylist involve?
Every wedding is different. We first understand your wedding, who needs support, the number of functions, location and the type of styling or shopping help required. Our team then recommends the right level of support and discusses the commercial details with you directly.
Is a wedding stylist worth it?
It is worth it when your decisions are expensive, repeated and time-boxed. Most couples shop for several functions, in unfamiliar markets, on weekends they cannot get back. A stylist reduces the number of stores you visit, prevents outfits that clash across functions or photograph badly, and protects the alteration timeline, which is where most wedding wardrobes actually go wrong.
When should I hire a wedding stylist?
Six to nine months before the wedding is comfortable, because custom orders and heavy embroidery need long lead times and fittings run in rounds. Three months is still workable if you shop from ready pieces and start immediately. Under a month, we focus on what can be altered, accessorised and coordinated rather than commissioned.
Can a wedding stylist help with shopping?
Yes, and for most couples that is the main reason to hire one. We shortlist stores and designers to a realistic route, book appointments, come with you on shopping days, check fabric and finishing quality, keep the budget mapped per look, and then follow the pieces through alterations and pickups. See our Wedding Shopping Assistance page for the full scope.
Can you style the bride, groom and family?
Yes. We plan the bride's and groom's looks together so they read as a pair without matching literally, then coordinate parents, siblings and the wedding party around that palette. Family coordination is usually where photographs are won or lost, because it is the part nobody plans until the week before.
Can you help NRI families shop in India?
Yes. We start while you are still abroad with a style brief, measurements and a shortlist, then compress the shopping into the days you are actually in India. Appointments are booked in advance, alteration slots are held, and anything unresolved is followed up after you fly home. Our NRI Wedding Shopping page explains the trip planning in detail.
Do you offer virtual wedding styling?
Yes. Virtual styling covers the style brief, look plans for each function, lookbooks, outfit evaluations from photos and video, online shortlisting and live video shopping sessions. It suits early-stage planning, couples outside the cities we cover in person, and families abroad. In-person help is added where fittings and fabric judgement need to happen in the room.
Can a wedding stylist work within my budget?
Yes, provided the budget is set before shopping starts, not after. We split the total across functions so the anchor outfits get the money they need and the smaller functions are styled with lighter pieces, repeats and accessories. Knowing where to spend and where not to is most of the job.
What is the difference between a wedding stylist and a wedding planner?
A wedding planner runs the event: venue, vendors, guests, timelines and budget for the wedding itself. A wedding stylist is responsible only for how you and your family look, which is outfits, shopping, jewellery, accessories, fittings and coordination across functions. Many couples work with both, and the two roles overlap only at the schedule.
